It's not really "day 1" of my training for the TM, but it's day 1 of my blogging about it, so I'm just going to go with it! :) This whole daily update thing is a little new for me, so we'll see how it goes.
What's on the agenda today for training? Well, let's see:
- Bike ride - my goal is to get a minimum of 20 km in today, so hopefully I get it done before it rains! This will give me a decent amount of cardio, and some lighter work on my legs. (I'm still sore from P90X's "Legs & Back" routine the day before yesterday!) For my cycling goals, I actually have a profile on Run Keeper. I love the app for this website on the iPhone, mainly because all I have to do is "press play" on my phone, and it uses the GPS to track not only my distance, but shows the whole path I took from start to finish once my ride is updated on the website! Amazing! (As Tony Horton of P90X would say, "How do you know where to go if you don't know where you've been?"...He's a brilliant man in my opinion.) It tracks your total km per ride, and your total km over time, and even tracks your estimated calories burned based on your details that you enter about your body. It has pretty much everything I need in terms of tracking this stuff, so I dig it.
- Gym Time - I haven't decided if today will be the day I start with the TM circuit training, but I will be giving a full upper body workout today. (All things related to arms & back!) I don't want to go too hard today though, because tomorrow I am most likely doing a kick boxing class. (Something I've never done before, so I need to be a bit careful here...)
- P90X - Today, I honestly don't know what workout I'm "supposed" to do, but I do know that I'm supposed to do Ab Ripper X. This excites me. (Ask me at the end of the day, and I will have a different opinion, because my abs are still hurting from 2 days ago...)
- EATING! - Captain Obvious says: Food is important. Today I have to make another batch of my energy bars before I head out on my bike ride (recipe to come!) so that I don't get hungry while I'm on the road and lean in to temptation to stop in somewhere... Speaking of food, I think I'm going to end this entry in a few seconds so that I can make breakfast...
- Early to bed tonight - Umm... I know this isn't "training", but I didn't sleep very well last night. In fact, I wasn't able to fall asleep until around 5am... (Thank you, fighting neighbours, for fighting in the hallway until 4:30am!)
