Juice Cleanse - It Begins!

So here it is, folks. My first solid (and honest) attempt at a juice cleanse.
I do a lot of juicing with veggies and some fruit, and try to keep it as a main part of my diet along with as much raw food as possible, but I’ve never given a full on cleanse a chance.
From what I’ve read of other peoples’ experiences, it’s hard to do this while working. Some people have suggested booking vacation time for the week you plan on doing a cleanse, just because your mind will be foggy at times, and you may lack enough energy to fully function during the day.
So what do I do? I start on a Monday. Not just ANY Monday, but a nasty cold and wet snowy Monday. Because that’s how I roll.I'm not sure how many days I'll let this go for, I'm aiming for 3... I'll be happy to reach 5!
(Actually, I planned on starting today, and had no idea that this weather was going to be dumped on us all in Toronto because I had been avoiding checking the weather network… My own fault!)
You may be asking if I took some vacation days so that I can rest, and prepare my juices gradually throughout the day… No. No I didn’t.
I’m going to be at work every day this week, sadly sniffing the lovely aromas of delicious solid foods that my coworkers will be preparing and eating. I will be listening to the satisfying crunches of deliciousness. I will be closing my eyes and breathing through my nose for extended periods beside the coffee maker while I fill up my mug with water. I will continue to browse through amazing recipes and photos of delicious vegan, raw or not, desserts and other meals that fill up my Twitter and Instagram feeds.
I will do all of this, while I sip on my juice. If I find I’m getting too light headed for my commute for work, I will add in a smoothie here and there. The smoothies won’t be anything too fancy though, just some water, banana, spirulina, and possibly raw hemp protein. This is mainly because I also plan on continuing to work out through this. If anything, I may try to just add the spirulina into my green juice, and avoid the smoothies altogether. Maybe I’ll juice a few bananas… Can I juice bananas?

Anyways, I’m going to document each day to the best of my ability, because… Well, I don’t really know why. Maybe someone like me will stumble upon this in later weeks, months, or years, and find something useful out of my experience. I plan to not only post the juices that I’m drinking, but also my thoughts throughout the day, along with a record of how my body feels during everything. There may be more details than people care to read, but that’s okay.

As for why I’m doing this cleanse: why not? I’ve noticed a steady decline in my motivation to eat healthy, and find myself allowing “treats” a little too often… So I feel like I need to flush myself out a bit, and give my body a jump-start. I’ve never done this before, but I’ve fed my body some nasty stuff over the course of my life, so I feel like it’s time if I really want to bring my body to the best it can be.

So for now I’m off! If you’re bored and have the urge to read about my experience, check back every evening for a recap of my day!
