This is probably one of the richest, and most decadent smoothies I've made. It's also now made it into my top 3 smoothies in the smoothie rotation. (I really, really love smoothies.)
I can't really say much more about this, aside from: you need to try this. It's healthy. It's rich. It's delicious. Here's the recipe:
Today's Smoothie - Pudding Cup
Ingredients:
- 1/2 large avocado (or 1 small avocado), very ripe!
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 heaping tsp ground cinnamon
- Very light pinch of sea salt
- 1 tsp maca powder (optional, but I love the taste of this stuff)
- 1 tsp agave nectar (or sweetener of your choice)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Mix these above ingredients together really well in a bowl, then scoop it into your blender, or whatever you make your smoothies in. I use a stick-blender, so I just toss this into the jar...
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1 scoop protein of your choice (for this, I used 1 scoop of the vanilla SunWarrior raw protein)
- 3/4 - 1 cup frozen strawberries
Method:
- Blend the "pudding" with the rest of the ingredients, and enjoy! :) This is a very thick smoothie, so you can thin it out if you like with more liquid, but I suggest drinking it as is. ;) It's great!
